After my volunteer experiences in developing countries overseas, it was clear to me just how fortunate and lucky I was as a child with the resources and opportunities for learning. Teaching in countries like this was quite a challenge and you learnt to make use of the fundamentals and necessities of learning rather than the extras.
Fundamentals:
Inclusion
Cared for, safe and protected at all times
Creating awareness of the world around them
Support
Creativity
The opportunity to ne included in sports, dance, music and extra curricular activities
What can we do without:
Discrimination
Exams and tests, such as NAPLAN
Boxes of resources for activities
Learning space itself, such as desks, etc.
Overlooking issues, concerns or questions because they are too difficult
